Jenny asks…
Please help me find a good SIM card plan for The Netherlands?
I am from the US and will be living in The Netherlands for five months. I have an original iPhone that I would like to buy an international SIM card for. I don’t NEED a data plan, but would prefer it. The most important thing is to be able to call/text within The Netherlands. I don’t need to call back to the US.
Pete answers:
You can buy vodafone, lycamobile, lebara etc.
Im using lycamobile since its cheap. I think you can buy for 10 euro a new line.
Then for every top-up it gives double credit.
Works fine.

David asks…
If I buy an unlocked G1 phone from eBay, will it work overseas with an international Sim card?
Some people tell me that sim card must have the data plan so the phone can communicate with google.
Some people tell me that I may lose some functionality (like syncing with google) but the phone itself will work.
Some say the sim card you put in must have the data plan in order to activate it!
I guess the basic question I have it that I buy G1 from T-mobile, activate it, unlock it and then send it overseas…..Will the person I’m giving this phone to able to put his sim card in and start using the basic functionality of the phone (like calling and receiving calls)?
I really appreciate anyone who can help…Thanks
Thanks….
I completely agree with you….What’s the point of the G1 if you can’t use the available features. but he wants one knowing this and I don’t care as long as he pays me.
Thanks again.
Pete answers:
Yea. That’s how unlocked phones work. It may affect the data plans & etc but as far as it being a phone is concerned, no problem there.
