Will Tracfone service work on any unlocked GSM phone?

I goofed and let my folks’ Tracfone expire — not only did I lose a boatload of minutes, Tracfone now won’t even let me reactivate the phone (moto v60i) because it has been deprecated (I guess because it doesn’t have a SIM card?). We tried to add Mom and Dad to our family plan, but our carrier won’t allow it because “they live in a different area code”. We might move to their area in a couple of years, so I thought an unlocked GSM phone would be a good investment (hoping that we could use it for tracfone now, then add them to our plan after we get there) — or, if another GSM carrier or even a PCS carrier would allow the multi-state family plan, we might be willing to switch. Whatever info/advice you have for either option would be appreciated!

No…!! Not on tracfone only cingular/att…T-Mobile!!! There are the only 2 providers in the US!!!

Yes, an unlocked cellphone is a good investment, this the only way to go….just get a sims card from either ATT or T-Mobile!!!

You have to be more specific other wise you will get opinions about what phone is the best…and you know what they say about opinions. Another thing…the best phone would depend on what do you want to use it for…i think the best phone would be the N95-3 from nokia..this phone might be an over kill if you don’t need all the features in it…edit your post so you can get more help…good luck
