Phone with Android for $200 Unlocked.?

I am looking out for a GSM phone within $200 , I am from India I will b there for 2 weeks , so that I can use the phone there and as well in India. SO I need some model from any Manufacture.

Best Starter Android phone?

Just getting into android. looking for a nice phone that has enough capability to do everything from web browsing to texting, and multimedia.

The phone should be relatively CHEAP.

I run on GSM. So unlocked phones, or AT&T will work for me.
i was considering the G1. any thoughts?
