does it look like a scam ?
Pete answers:
100% scam.
There are no iphones for sale here.
There is only a scammer trying to steal your hard-earned money.
The next email will demand you pay only by Western Union or moneygram.
Western Union and moneygram do not verify anything on the form the sender fills out, not the name, not the street address, not the country, not even the gender of the receiver, it all means absolutely nothing. The clerk will not bother to check ID and will simply hand off your cash to whomever walks in the door with the MTCN# and question/answer. Neither company will tell the sender who picked up the cash, at what store location or even in what country your money walked out the door. Neither company has any kind of refund policy, money sent is money gone forever.
Now that you have responded to a scammer, you are on his ‘potential sucker’ list, he will try again to separate you from your cash. He will send you more emails from his other free email addresses using another of his fake names with all kinds of stories of great jobs, lottery winnings, millions in the bank and desperate, lonely, sexy singles. He will sell your email address to all his scamming buddies who will also send you dozens of fake emails all with the exact same goal, you sending them your cash via Western Union or moneygram.
You could post up the email address and the emails themselves that the scammer is using, it will help make your post more googlable for other suspicious potential victims to find when looking for information.
Do you know how to check the header of a received email? If not, you could google for information. Being able to read the header to determine the geographic location an email originated from will help you weed out the most obvious scams and scammers. Then delete and block that scammer. Don’t bother to tell him that you know he is a scammer, it isn’t worth your effort. He has one job in life, convincing victims to send him their hard-earned cash.
Whenever suspicious or just plain curious, google everything, website addresses, names used, companies mentioned, phone numbers given, all email addresses, even sentences from the emails as you might be unpleasantly surprised at what you find already posted online. You can also post/ask here and every scam-warner-anti-fraud-busting site you can find before taking a chance and losing money to a scammer.
Just to let you know, Apple does not allow any of their re-sellers to sell in bulk. Never. Ever. No Exceptions. For any reason.
Also, anyone that offers any electronics “buy 5 get 2 free” or “buy 3 get 1 free” or anything like that is always a scammer. No. Exceptions. Ever.

Mark asks…
cell phones, plans, performance?
since my contract is about to expire. i would like to upgrade to a smart phone; my phone is the samsung rogue currently with verizon: great coverage, rarely dropped calls, customer service is good, no complaints.
i had at&t when it was still cingular (loved the roll over minutes), t-mobile when it was a couple years old. both were okay but not as good as verizon.
i had both boost mobile and metro pcs for work. both were so-so to okay, these no contract phones worked out for what i needed, but horrible customer service.
i have verizon, with connect plan, which they don’t have anymore. so to upgrade with new contract, i will be paying a lot more for same features. 1400min/unlimited text and mobile web.
so many phones and carriers and plans, i am a bit overwhelmed by all the choices.
1.really impressed with smart phones so looking to upgrade ( i’m a johnny come lately) but “unlimited” data/internet plans seem to be disappearing.
is there a difference in mobile web/data and performance between carriers?
2. is there an affordable plan that has unlimited talk/text/web?
looked at boost mobile and metro pcs are cheaper but lackluster phone choices. with metro i can get phones “flashed” to work on there network. boostmobile cannot do that. i have seen virgin $25 plan but that only has 300min. increasing the talk time will be comparable to either boost and metro.
3. would i be better off with the major carrier (att&t, verizon, t-mobile) or a no contract phone? i will be getting 4 cell phones, so something cost effective would be nice.
4. cdma/gsm. what is the difference? was embarassed to ask the sales rep, so i just nodded pretending to understand.
5. can i use a phone from carrier on another? probably by unlocking it i suppose. but will the phones capabilities be hindered?
6. any suggestions, ideas, info anyone has. thanks.
