ATT 3g sim on a 2g phone?

I have a sidekick lx after smashing two phone i have finally decided to buy another one. Now i know your thinking “but sk’s are for tmobile but the title says ATT” well tht is the reason i hate it. No picture messages, broken micro sd, bad service, always dies, no noise when i get a text. I am going to get a GSM phone witch i understand means 2g but i have the newest ATT sim card and it has the 3g logo on it. If i cant get pictures i dont care i just want a cool phone with call and text, if it matters about the phone here are the links… In case tht one doesnt work i have gotten all the possible phone on one ebay page, If ou see one tt will work then fell free to tell me, i am only lookig for a phone with a QWERTY keyboard

Any phone that uses a full size sim card will work with a full size 3g sim card. I have a 3g att sim card that works in a 1st generation iphone (operated on 2g service). Right now there is no difference in monthly payments between 3g and 2g, so you dont have to worry about.

Feel free to pick any phone that you want. Just make sure that it uses the same size sim card.

beware that the iphone 4 uses a micro/mini sim card so your sim card will not work with one of those.

Getting a new cell phone?

So I’ve had my cell phone for quite a while and now I’m looking to get a new one, preferably one of those new touch screen smartphones that are out nowadays. The thing is I don’t really want a data plan since I’m around wifi all day. Are there any smartphones that have wifi like that, so I can just ignore the data plan since I plan on buying it unlocked online (prob ebay). Is that asking too much though, like having your cake and eating it too? I know people with androids and the OS looks pretty cool but they don’t know if they have wifi…

Try checking into an HTC HD7( big screen ) or a Dell Venue Pro ( Hardware Keyboard ) those are some of the new phones for t mobile.
If you are new to smartphones those will be really great for you. They have microsofts new mobile os on them. All and more of the features that any other smartphone, but straight forward and easy to use.
They both have WiFi.
HTC is #1 in build quality. (most others are made of really cheap plastic) you can feel the diff just by holding them in your hand.
